Get ready to embark on a one-of-a-kind, action-packed journey through South Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes and heart-pounding experiences. This 7-day Garden Route adventure is your ticket to unforgettable adrenaline, cultural connections, and the pure joy of exploration. Whether you’re chasing the views or the waves, this tour is designed for those who crave the extraordinary.

Day 1: Kickstart the Journey
Glide through the Garden Route in style and comfort in our air-conditioned van, your home on wheels for the next week. We have lunch in Barrydale, the port capital of South Africa along the iconic R62, before arriving in Calitzdorp. We end the day diving into the world of exquisite ports and wines. Enjoy a guided tasting of different locally crafted ports with a delicious roosterbrood snack. We end the day with a unique glamping experience. Fire up the braai for an ostrich feast under an endless expanse of stars and rest up for the adventures to come.

Day 2: Caves, Coastlines and Underwater Worlds
Start the day with a thrill as you crawl, climb, and squeeze through the magnificent Cango Caves. We tour the Cango Caves and learn everything of their heritage and importance over hundreds of years. We’ll stop for a quick lunch on our way to the coast before arriving in Mossel Bay to explore the underwater world with a guided snorkelling dive. Overnight in the Santos Train Lodge, a real train which was converted into cozy lodgings. Dine either in the harbour or aboard the train, relishing the coastal vibe.

Day 3: Big 5 Safari & Wanders in the Wilderness
Embark on a 3-hour safari where you’ll have a chance to encounter South Africa’s Big 5 wildlife – lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo and elephants. After lunch, we’ll explore Wilderness, a dense indigenous forest filled with hiking trails, cliffs and waterfalls. It’s the perfect spot to cool off and take in the pristine nature. Overnight at Island Vibe Knysna where we’ll settle into the laid-back atmosphere of this coastal town. The Knysna heads is a famous sunset spot overlooking the estuary below. Prepare a group braai and enjoy the cozy atmosphere of this loveable hostel while sharing stories with other travellers before tucking in for a well-deserved rest.

Day 4: Nature to Culture, Thrills to Chills
Be immersed in Rastafarian culture during our Rastafarian Village tour and connect with this vibrant community. Learn their way of community living and love for music. On our way to Jeffrey’s Bay, we’ll stop at the Bloukrans Bridge for an optional bungee jump – the highest bungee in the world! Not up for the pledge? Try the skywalk or a serene walk to the Big Tree. Arrive at Jeffrey’s Bay, famous for its surfing culture. Enjoy a vibe-filled atmosphere at Island Vibe Backpackers J-Bay. This legendary Backpackers is known for creating unbreakable friendships through long days spent on the beach and hearty beer pong tournaments at night.

Day 5: Surf & Turf in Jeffrey’s Bay
Start the day off the J-Bay way, with a morning surf-lesson. J-Bay is the mecca of surfing in South Africa, and you are sure form an unbreakable love for the ocean. The rest of the day is yours to explore Jeffrey’s Bay at your own pace. Whether you want to try new adventures like sandboarding or stand up paddleboarding, discover the local shops, or embark on a scenic ocean cruise from St Francis village, the choice is yours. Wind down with a laid-back evening at Island Vibe, sharing stories of the day’s adventures over a delicious dinner.

Day 6: Majestic Elephants & Sunset Drives
Set off early for a day of safari in Addo, home to the densest herd of African Elephant on the planet. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park surrounded by these gentle giants. After our elephant encounter, we’ll journey to Tsitsikamma, arriving just in time to catch the sunset over the ocean.

Day 7: Hiking & the Home Stretch
Start the day with an early hike in Tsitsikamma National Park, along one of the many trails in the area. These trails offer amazing coastal and forest stretches, allowing Mother Nature to blow your mind one last time. On our journey back to Stellenbosch, we’ll stop in Riversdale for a visit to the Gordon Africana Museum, where you’ll delve into local history and see Khoisan rock paintings. Our epic adventure concludes as we arrive back in Stellenbosch, with memories that will last a lifetime.
